Shopstar Emprendedores is supported by one of the most important banks in Peru called ''Interbank''. The primary platform is Shopstar.pe, which brings together many well-known marketplaces/brands companies from Peru.
The challenge was to create and build a platform for the ventures affected by the pandemic and needed a place to exhibit and expose their products. Likewise, we had to improve the experience using previous data from the mother website Shopstar.pe to fix and propose new solutions.
In the beginning of March 2020, the ex-President of Peru Martin Vizcarra announced an strict home quarantine for 2 weeks. However the quarantine extended for almost 5 months. A lot of businesses were affected specially the smallest ones. Many of them went bankrupt and some others migrated to online platforms.
During the research process we realized that many ventures were selling in big marketplaces with no enough exposure to increase their sells and popularity, that was because the big marketplaces gave more preferences to big/international brands. We already had Shopstar.pe (the main marketplace) and we knew that in order to give a better experience and exposure to these ventures we needed an exclusive marketplace for them, so we called Shopstar Emprendedores.
The experience of Shopstar Emprendedores is very unique, since it gives every venture the opportunity to have their own personalized landing page. Likewise, we implemented in the navigation bar the categories ''Ver tiendas'' and ''Ver marcas'' which allows the users (clients) to explore specific ventures and brands. We also built a new whole checkout experience, using data from Shopstar.pe (the main marketplace) and some interviews with users about their experience during the checkout process, with all the information needed we created a more simple, clean and easy checkout.
